From Daddy: It’s hard to believe that less than two weeks ago, we landed at Dulles to begin our journey. We piled into a Super Shuttle van to take us to the Holiday Inn Gaitherburg (sufficiently nice hotel) though without much alternative we walked in some rain to Boston Market for dinner. We got a birthday pie for Goo-Goo’s birthday.
The next morning we boarded an early morning bus which delivered us to the Corning Museum of Glass about five hours later.
We looked around and dined in their cafe. We didn’t see any of the shows, but sites like TripAdvisor highly recommend them. Still, the Rube Goldberg machine fascinated us. Click below or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvA-VD2XWog to watch it.
We departed around 1:45 p.m. and made it to Old Fort Niagara State Park three hours later.
From Daddy: We’ve been in Colorado Springs since July 4. Today, he tried a Ninja Warrior course at Springs Trampoline Park. He didn’t do as well as expected and the high altitude tired him out. Click above or https://youtu.be/rHq737usanQ to see if he made it up the Warped Wall.
From Daddy: He received his green belt yesterday! Yay! (Click above or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfA3UEM9-9U.)
With the announcement of American Ninja Warrior Junior, he’s been inspired to train again. Above is a video from two evenings ago or click youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kf1E_Xd2gzI.
From Daddy: The boy and I had a great time at the California Academy of Sciences yesterday! We entered at 10, an hour reserved for members only. We got a junior scientist pack with which to explore the museum. We catch a brief demonstration to junior scientists about how fish fill their bladders with air to float or sink at https://www.calacademy.org/events/programs/junior-scientist-adventure-live-science-experience-3.
But then we saw Claude, the albino alligator move! He almost never moves! This is the most we have seen him move in all our years combined! See the video above or click https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBzcy6Hahos.
This was perfectly timed to allow us to see the penguin feeding https://www.calacademy.org/events/programs/penguin-feeding-3. The video is below or click https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2em8NnvwOQk
Then we encountered and touched a moon jelly at https://www.calacademy.org/events/programs/jelly-encounter! Then we had a 3-D Tour of the Universe (we never saw that before) https://www.calacademy.org/events/programs/3d-tour-of-the-universe!
Shortly afterward, we watched a scuba diver and feeding at the coral reef exhibit https://www.calacademy.org/events/programs/coral-reef-dive-3.
Also, we examine minerals and watched colorful finches!
