From Daddy: Here are more photos from old Fort Niagara
Afterward, we saw the whirlpool at Whirlpool State Park along the Niagara River.
Three Days Ago
While I’m driving, the boy and his friend are in the back of my car with their noses in their Nintendo Switch game consoles. He advised his friend on a certain method, saying, “Trust me: Your fingers will thank you.”
I stick my right index finger in the air. I say, “Is your finger going say, ‘Thank you!’ ” as I flex my finger.
I can practically hear him roll his eyes at my as he declares, “It’s personification!”
When did he learn that word? Hilarious.
From Daddy: It’s hard to believe that less than two weeks ago, we landed at Dulles to begin our journey. We piled into a Super Shuttle van to take us to the Holiday Inn Gaitherburg (sufficiently nice hotel) though without much alternative we walked in some rain to Boston Market for dinner. We got a birthday pie for Goo-Goo’s birthday.
The next morning we boarded an early morning bus which delivered us to the Corning Museum of Glass about five hours later.
We looked around and dined in their cafe. We didn’t see any of the shows, but sites like TripAdvisor highly recommend them. Still, the Rube Goldberg machine fascinated us. Click below or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvA-VD2XWog to watch it.
We departed around 1:45 p.m. and made it to Old Fort Niagara State Park three hours later.
From Daddy: He tapped me awake around 4:20 a.m. this morning. I had drifted in and out of sleep for the recent while, hearing pages flip in his bedroom. “I’m sorry to wake you Daddy, but did I eat dinner last night?”
“No, you fell asleep before dinner was ready.”
“Oh, I was reading Garfield, and I realize it was all about food!”
From Daddy: Today he kissed Mommy and me in turn and said, “Thank you for raising me for ten years.” Awwwwww.
He loved this planetarium show that we saw: Journey to the Stars
From Daddy: Today for a Spirit activity at school, kids were encouraged to wear business attire!
