It was great! We almost decided to take a hiatus, but a friend almost joined and we enrolled. The friend was not unable to join after all, but we’re glad that we did. He had a great time. Thanks coaches!

There was no basketball two weeks ago due to Easter Sunday. Click above or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtWPZ3JCCaw to watch defensive practice. He was the only kid to steal from the coach! Click below or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SydmQ61DuNo to watch the game.
For the past few months, we’ve been listening to some great podcasts about science aimed for kids. We listen to Brains On, But Why: A Podcast for Curious Kids, and Tumble from Lindsay Patterson and the goofy Marshall Escamilla. This podcasts entertain the boy, stoke his curiosity, and make him smile.
Last Sunday, on the way home from basketball, we were listening to the Brains On episode “Do we all see the same colors?” (click to visit that episode) around the 2:43 mark, he adorably exclaimed, “I love this part: The fiction part,” as he noticed that the episode was transitioning into a cute illustrative audio skit about how eyes work.
Below is a video of that basketball game from last week.
He had his doubts about wanting to attend the game, but afterward he declare that it was great “because it’s not about winning or losing, but about having fun,” he declared. I’m glad that he had fun!
We began a new six-week series of basketball. Last week was the third session. We missed the previous one because he was ill. A video of the game from the first session is below.
From Daddy: We had basketball today after taking last year off. We’ll have next week off as well. (Click above or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSgy_NaqNc4 to see him play.)
He spent the evening and had dinner at his friend’s mom’s parents’ house. Upon leaving and receiving praise from the grandmother, he says to his friends mom, “I’m seriously thinking about spending more time with your parents.”
This happened while some of his schoolmates marched in the parade!

Next Sunday is off due to the long weekend, but then we’ll be back in two weeks.
He’s at the front of the line on the right side. Yup, he’s probably the shortest. And his team obviously has the shortest average height as well, December 4, 2016, 3:55 p.m.
From Daddy: After a Thanksgiving Break, we enjoyed another Sunday of basketball! I’m so proud of his and his team’s effort!
He is among the best in his league at throwing and catching the ball! Click above or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0KtY_YsARI, or watch below for the highlight:

From Daddy: I’m so proud of him and his basketball team! Their opponents today were stronger, bigger, and older, but yet his team stayed competitive and had the stamina and/or depth to dominate the second half! Click above or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7V8YMcGt0E.
While we walked in the rain with umbrellas on the way to our haircuts, he asked me, “Daddy, does an umbrella truly help when you’re skydiving?”
I said, “No, an umbrella isn’t strong enough or big enough to make a difference.” Then I thought about it. “But, you know there is something big enough and strong enough, right? You know what it’s called.”
He asked, “What?”
I replied, “A parachute!”
He half-laughed, “Oh yeah! A parachute!”
A couple of minutes later, he took a couple of small hops. “You’re right,” he declared, “it didn’t help at all [in slowing his fall].”
He was great last week in shooting practice…
…and his team had a great game!
