From Daddy: He’s happy to be back at Camp Strawberry, one year after his first camp here!
Yesterday (Monday) was the first day. We had breakfast at McDonald’s, just before camp, as we did last year (though unlikely last year, he is sadly without his classmate, who is currently in a different camp).
In the morning, the temperature outside home and in Mill Valley was in the 50s when we left home. He tried and loved his Cars jacket. I’d tried to get him to wear it in the winter once, and he didn’t care for it. Today, he loved it and found it comfy. He even wore it into the restaurant.
I had him leave the jacket in the car when we arrived at camp since the temperature had risen to the 60s. (He put it back on for the car ride this morning.)
He was happy to be back.
He had a happy Day One, but leaped up to meet me when I picked him up at 4:33 p.m. in the afternoon; I had confirmed with the camp counselors that camp ended at 4:30 and that I should pick him up just afterward, but many kids had left by the time that I arrived and he greeted me with a “Finally!”
We jointly agreed that I would pick him up fifteen minutes earlier today. He ran up to greet me when I arrived this afternoon and declared that I arrived at the perfect time. Somehow he was proud of have received seven lei’s today and wants to wear them tomorrow for Dress-Up Wednesday in which the theme is “tropical.”
