From Daddy: After two weeks in Southern California, I met up with Mommy and the boy for dinner. He say to me quietly, “I’m so happy to so you.” Awwww. He also say that he was glad to be back in San Francisco. I told him that I was glad but that technically we were in Daly City. He said, “I know but it’s so close.”

From Daddy: He spent mornings last week at the Bay Area Discovery Museum at Fort Building Camp!
I had the great fortune of being able to drive him there on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, but unfortunately I did not plan sufficiently to be able to drive him Wednesday and Friday nor visit his fort on Friday (the last day).
Still, returning to the museum gave me a great deal of nostalgia. He’s attend a camp at the Bay Area Discovery Museum for each of the previous two years (Art Attack! two years ago, Fort Building also last year), and we had great memories.
We arrived early on Monday (the first day), so we enjoyed a walk near the shoreline to look at the Golden Gate Bridge and take photos. Then, he joined his group on the mat that was set up on the sidewalk.
On the following morning, we also left the house early so I treated him to a bolo bao which he would have enjoyed at school on Tuesdays anyway. We brought our treats (I also got a pastry) and ate at the museum before anyone else arrived.
After camp on Tuesday, he and Mommy joined me for lunch near the office!
On Thursday, I took photos him as I was trying out my new phone (obtained just three days previously).

Finally on Friday, the fort was unveiled!
He had lunch at In-and-Out and enjoyed the Griffith Observatory!
This Past Weekend

Between the trampoline dodgeball at House of Air and the rock climbing at Planet Granite, he did some free bouncing around. See the video above!
Also, just for fun, here is the safety video at Planet Granite (click https://vimeo.com/126339592 because it will not play below).

From Daddy: One of his favorite things to do at House of Air (preceding the rock climbing at Planet Granite) at Saturday’s birthday party was to play dodgeball on trampolines! I was surprised because this was the type of game (elimination/combat) that would cause him to cry less than two couple of years ago. His side won the first two games and he was delighted.
We would later realized (unrelatedly) that he was erroneously given a wrist band for those older than age 7. Still, I would think that he was as physical as any seven year old. Later, he didn’t love dodgeball as much as the older kids (tweens and teens) were too good.

From Daddy: Yesterday, we attended a great birthday party! The highlight for him was an hour at Planet Granite to rock climb.

We went to Golf Mart to buy him a golf glove for his right hand. Hopefully, Grandpa will be able to take him golfing when he and Mommy are visiting next week.

Then we went shopping at Target at Tanforan after which he wanted to play area just in the mall.

From Daddy: After a shopping trip at Safeway yesterday, we drove to Mommy’s preschool so that she could drop off some groceries.
She left him in the car because he said that he didn’t want to come in.
However, when I told him that I saw a gigantic tent, he excitedly wanted to see it!
He want permitted to enter, and he ran and jumped laps inside.

Afterward, we got his long-awaited haircut.
Later, we had a swimming lesson.

Then grocery shopping.
The Day Before
We celebrated National Doughnut Day 2015 with free doughnuts at Krispy Kreme.
From Daddy: He’s wanted a haircut for a while.
I asked him what he wanted to do yesterday morning; it was his first Friday after the end of first grade and I had arranged to be out of the office to spend the day with him. On his list was golf, an art project, and a haircut.
We accomplished the first two things, but the haircut didn’t happen until this afternoon…but it was well-timed. We arranged for it after his swimming class since his hair would be washed tonight anyway.
After swimming, we shopped at Safeway as a family. I wanted him to join us so that he could select for himself some flavors of yogurt which might help to counteract the side effects of the antibiotics he’s been taking since a doctor’s visit on Thursday morning.
From Safeway, I called the salon who said that he could get his haircut any time after a half-hour from then.
We dropped off some groceries at Mommy’s preschool. He played there for a while and then we went to the hair salon.
The early razor-work in the back seemed to remove too much hair for my preference. However, he gave it an unsolicited thumb up. He would repeat the thumb up after the cut.
I liked the way that the haircut turned out!
He had his first swimming lesson with the replacement swim teacher. It was a good lesson and she did well for him. She was teaching a new skill today–treading water–and you can watch by clicking https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5vKUlDUG_w on your device.
Afterward, we drove to Safeway where he enjoyed driving the shopping cart. He would choose the Boston Cream Pie flavor of Yoplait Greek 100.
Also, I needed to buy vinegar and Mommy needed to buy stuff for the preschool.
