New Raincoat at Sheng-Kee Bakery, December 11, 2014, 2:47 p.m.
From Daddy: A big rainstorm on Thursday led to closures of school, work, and other businesses. We had a family walk in the rain to two local bakeries and the local library where he had terrific fun reading.
I found these audio books at the library during the rainstorm. We just finished Dolphins at Daybreak tonight, the ninth book in the series. It will be quite a while before we get to these books, December 11, 2014, 3:04 p.m

Art in the morning.
He had a great time a Family Arts Day in the morning. In the foreground are his original pair of pants before he spilled hot cocoa everywhere–he didn’t quite believe me when I told him how hot it was, December 12, 2014, 8:57 a.m.
We arrived at the Multi-Purpose Room at school around 8:06. Almost all of the before school kids were seated at the couple of long cafeteria tables put together. The before school Site Coordinator was going through the rules with the kids, so he and I remained standing near the entrance so as not to interrupt. The Playworks coach was standing there too, and he and I exchanged a quick hello at “grown-up” level; the boy didn’t notice so he grabbed me to whisper, “Say ‘Hi’ to Coach Josh!” to which I answered, “I already did!”
When the children released from the explanation of the rules, they scattered. Rather than first go for food or drink, he wanted to go to an arts station. We (mostly I) must have spent over twenty minutes on a difficult project of making a star out of stars and string. Afterward, he got in line for hot cocoa. It was HOT! I warned him, but he felt great after a quick sip. A longer drink burned his mouth, and he pushed the cup forward creating a spill on the table. With the help of a kind boy, the three of us cleaned the table.
He got another hot cocoa and a cinnamon bread. He happily ate the bread–pausing kindly to share some with me–during which I got the spare pants out of his backpack for him to change.
He later reported having a great time.

Christmas tree shopping!
The tree that we wanted was not at the tree lot on 19th and Sloat. But we quickly found the perfect tree at 9th and Lawton. It was expensive, however, December 7, 2014, 5:38 p.m.
