From Daddy: He has been sleeping late on most weekdays since he was sick a couple of weeks ago. This has caused us often to arrive at school later than usual.
He emerged from bed at 7:12 a.m. this morning. We were efficient and arrived at school near the beginning of calisthenics (which you can watch if you click https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPd4iBl_Ur8 on your mobile device or click below).
He and I have been playing Monopoly often since the weekend (using his understanding of the rules, though I’m not sure where he learned these rules). While he’s learned somewhat about money, he cannot negotiate change yet. He was not sure how to proceed when he had to pay $160 while he only had hundred dollar bills, so I helped him exchange $100 for twenty-dollar bills. “Take a twenty-dollar bill,” I suggested.
He laid it out.
“Take another twenty-dollar bill,” I continued.
“That’s $40,” he declared.
“Take another twenty-dollar bill,” I repeated.
“I know what you’re doing!” he exclaimed triumphantly.
We figured out that $100 was equal to 5 twenty-dollar bills, and he was able to pay $160 from there.

A Long Time Ago: A photo much like the one at the top of this blog entry!

Then we had a good dinner at Boulevard Cafe at which we played Hangman during a long wait for our food:
