From Daddy: He wrote the above note on his white board this morning. Awwwww.

From Daddy: During yesterday’s swimming class, he was almost able to swim across while peaking his head above water five times. I think that he’s actually able to walk somewhat along the bottom of this shallow pool!

From Daddy: When we visited the California Academy of Sciences with his godsister. Mommy bought him a blue and a purple toy stuffed sea nettles.
He discovered them a couple of days ago, and yesterday he wanted to snuggle with the blue one in our bed. (Cute moment: He got up from the bed and accidentally kicked it off. Then he said to it, “I’m sorry; I didn’t mean it.”)

From Daddy: Yesterday was family cemetery day for Ngen-Ngen’s side of the family. We participated in family tradition and had a good time.
It was a beautiful day with blue skies, green grass, and rolling hills to explore. He had lots of fun.
He was hungry on the way to Daddy’s Goong-Goong so I told him that maybe we could go to McDonald’s afterward.
However, after visiting Daddy’s Ai-Moo, Yeah-Yeah and Ngen-Ngen offered him a hard-boiled egg (shhh! It was boiled in tea!) and he devoured it after a moment of doubt. Nevertheless, on the way to the car, he whisper into my ear that it would be a great idea to go to McDonald’s. Later, he would be convinced that we could go after basketball.

After basketball, we had lunch at McDonald’s and made our way home. He was tired yesterday after swimming and JP Murphy Playground, and we had tried to declare this day to be a nap day. Fortunately, he napped (a rare event)! Unfortunately, Mommy foresaw that he’d have too much energy after a nap that exceeded two hours and fifteen minutes. I tried to take him on a neighborhood walk to use some energy.
We walked to the cacti on Judah Street. Then he was grumpy because the only bo lo bao at Sheng-Kee Bakery had coconut (to which we believe he is allergic), because he thought Uncle Benny’s donut shop got rid of their cacti in the window (they didn’t; we found they moved it to the corner), and because I would not let him have Tutti Melon frozen yogurt. However, his mood brightened up in time for him to dance on a raised area of sidewalk he called “the stage.”

Still, he would have so much energy that he watched most of The Amazing Race with Daddy (he roots for the cowboy team) and he still had difficulty getting to sleep until after 10 p.m. (his bedtime is 8 p.m.).

From Daddy: The above is an excerpt from the video of his swimming class below. I think that he was expecting me to take a photo in the video above, and that’s why he smiled to pose!

He was a little under the weather and followed me to work in the morning.
From Daddy: This morning, Mommy told him that she needed a hug. He complied and said that he’d always give her a hug when she needed. Mommy said, “I’ll remind you when you’re 16.” He reiterated and said, “I’ll remember.”

From Daddy: On Tuesdays and Thursdays before school, he has calisthenics. On many days with nice weather, it is outside and you can see in the video above that there was some racing this morning. He’s in the blue long-sleeved shirt and jeans in the video. If you noticed that he was tripped and fell, don’t worry: while he landed on his hands, his left palm was only slightly irritated temporarily and he was just fine–sufficiently fine to play skee-ball and other games at the Musée Mécanique with Mommy in the afternoon.
