From Daddy: Above is a recent homework assignment; the right side is Happy Birthday / sahng nget and the left side is Teacher / seen saan.
It’s been rainy lately, so I asked him to wear a hooded jacket to school, he negotiated it down to a hooded sweatshirt and a jacket vest, which probably turned out to be the right move since the sun came out.
As we entered the school yard, he saw his before-school teacher emerge from the main building to go to the room where the kids were exercising. He whistled a tune to get her attention and she seemed happy to see him. I offered to let him follow her while I entered the main building to sign him in, but he preferred to follow me. So, he put his backpack and vest in his cubby, I signed in, and then he ran to exercise.
He joined them mid-jumping jacks. Before I could give him one last kiss good-bye, the exercise leader yelled, “FOUR LAPS!”, so he launched. He took a gentle spill after the first lap, but so did the boy behind him; in retrospect, I think it may have been intentional because they rose quickly and ran the other three laps. Then all the kids dove/sat quickly. Then I said good-bye for the last time.
