“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”

Robert had a great time decorating the Christmas Tree.

After we were done, I asked him to sit with me on the couch at the other end of the living room. He climbed up beside me and sat right at my side and exclaimed, “From here it looks wonderful!” Awwwww.

Little Drummer Boy

This morning, Robert and I walked down to Annie’s to get our hair cut. Robert has been declaring for few weeks that he would never get his hair cut again, but yesterday he backtracked when Mommy reminded him that a reward for getting his hair cut was a lollipop. So, this morning, on the way to Annie’s, he told me, “I will never get a hair cut, but I’m going to get a hair cut.”

When we arrived, Annie remarked how handsome he looked with his cowboy boots. Robert made sure that she noticed his cowboy hat as well.

Before the hair cut, I made sure to grab the sole blue lollipop out of Annie’s candy bucket. Robert enjoyed it during my haircut while he played.

“O’ Christmas Tree”

On the way to and from Annie’s, we visited the cactus planting on Judah Street and 22nd Avenue. Granddad, Grandma, and Robert cactus:

Robert declared the taller catcus on the right to be “Granddad,” the left to be “Grandma,” and the small catcus to be “Robert,” December 24, 2012, 11:19 a.m.

Grandma Pam and Auntie Jamie cactus:

“Christmas Cookies” or “Frosting the Snowman”

Today, Mommy baked cookies with Robert. Later, we decorated cookies.

We also left a cookie out for Santa tonight!

Later tonight, we drove to visit the Tom and Jerry’s house in San Francisco.

When a fire truck drove down the street, Santa and his elf handed them candy canes. As Robert watched Santa, he shouted over the noise to Uncle Albert, “I left a cookie out for Santa, and I left a cookie out for you!” (pointing to Uncle Albert).

I asked, “Do you want to tell him?”

As Santa walked back to the sidewalk, Robert said, “I left a cookie out for you at my house!”

Santa asked if it was his favorite kind of cookie…“a Christmas cookie!”

Robert said it was and something about the frosting being glue (because Mommy likened the frosting to glue for the sprinkles). Despite their rapport, Robert still didn’t want to take a photo with Santa. He told me later that there were two kinds of Santas: One he doesn’t like and one he does like that he saw at school with the other kids.

Christmas Wrapping

One of Robert’s favorite things about this weekend was quality time with Uncle Albert. Here are photos of Robert giving Uncle Albert with a Christmas present.

Tonight, Mommy suggested that Robert select a cookie to share with Uncle Albert. Robert agreed and said, “And if Uncle Albert wants to share it with me, I would like it!”

“Santa Baby”

We love our boy.
