From Jen: My goddaughter came to visit yesterday and today. She took on the role of a Mother’s helper and was a fabulous friend and playmate to Robert while I got some things done around the house. We had a picnic at the playground today before she went home. Here’s a picture of her with a VERY sleepy Robert.

From Jen: Robert is very stubbornly refusing to eat any vegetables in their normal form. Fruit, chicken, potatoes, breads are all no problem, but regular veggies are a big N-O in his book. He will still eat baby food (pureed) veggies though. Tonight when he decided he was done with his carrots, he swiped at the spoon and turned his head at the same time. Here’s the result (which I, for some reason, find hilarious).
From Jen: My goddaughter (who is one of Robert’s FAVORITE people) got Robert to walk on camera today. He’s going to be running around in no time. Yay for Robert and Eek for Mommy and Daddy 🙂
From Jen: And that’s just what he’ll do. It’s official, Robert can walk. So far he’s only taken a couple of steps forward at a time, but he’s got to start somewhere, right? We’ll try to get video when we can.
From Jen: We attended a birthday brunch for Brian’s Aunt Sue on Sunday. It was great to see the extended family. Robert, as usual, was happy and intrigued to be around lots of people. Here are some pictures of the family:
Here are 2 pics of Robert’s very cute cousins playing hide and seek followed by a video of the cuties.
From Jen: We took Robert on his first family trip to the zoo today. We were only there for about 1 1/2 hours, but we had a really nice time.
He seemed very interested in the prarie dogs in the Children’s Zoo. After that we saw lots more animals (kangaroos, polar bears, grizzly bears, etc.) before coming to our last stop. This is where Robert proved that, without a shadow of a doubt, he is our child. He was fascinated by the penguins even though, to our disappointment, none were swimming today (they’re molting).
He thought the penguins were so cool, Mommy couldn’t even get him to look at the camera for a picture:
Here’s a video showing his interest:
