From Daddy: We all enjoyed eight days visiting grandparents in Southern California, and we just returned today!
We drove down on the night of Thursday the 22nd arriving around 1:30 a.m. (with Robert awake for the last two hours. Eeech.)
After presents on Christmas morning at Grandma’s and Granddad’s, we drove to Grandpa’s and Grandma Pam’s.
We didn’t spend the night there, so during the following the morning, I hurried downstairs with the camera when I heard Robert giggling so cutely and loudly:
Robert was playing volleyball with Grandma!
Later that day, armed with the golf clubs that Grandpa gave to Robert the day before, Grandpa took Robert and me to the Alhambra Golf Course!

Grandpa takes Robert by the hand to lead him down to the driving range, December 26, 2011, 1:06 p.m.
Grandpa got a medium bucket of golf balls out of the vending machine and then he led us down to the lowest of the three levels of the driving range.

Better that Robert hit from the lowest level!
As I look at the photo above, I am reminded of Robert sitting happily and peacefully with Grandma and Granddad watching a lone golfer at the driving range at the golf course in Golden Gate Park on September 4. I didn’t think as much of it at the time (http://beanieblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/07/big-fat-windmill-big-fat-windmill), but in past three months he has developed a love and obsession with golf.
After a golf lesson from Grandpa, Robert was happily pleased to be able to hit the ball approaching forty yards.
The obsession was golf carried onto Wednesday morning when Granddad took Mommy, Robert, and me to Egg Plantation for breakfast (which turned into brunch due to the long wait):
Merry Christmas from us!
